Help shape public participation in the borough
Editor: London News

Residents are being invited to have their say on public participation in the borough during a 12-week consultation.

Residents are being invited to have their say on the future of public participation in the borough as we launch a 12-week consultation to refresh our Charter for Public Participation.

The consultation aims to ensure that the Charter continues to meet the needs of residents and strengthens your ability to influence local decision-making.

What’s the Charter about?

The Charter for Public Participation, first introduced five years ago, sets out how residents can contribute to shaping local services and play an active role in decision-making. This review is part of the Council’s commitment to the recommendations from the Grenfell Inquiry Report, ensuring that residents' voices are heard and valued.

Cllr Sarah Addenbrooke, lead member for communities, said:
“Residents should have a real voice in shaping our community and influencing the decisions we make. This consultation is an opportunity for people to tell us what works, what needs improvement, and how we can ensure that public participation in Kensington and Chelsea is as inclusive and accessible as possible.

“We are already committed to involving residents in various ways, from questions at full Council, community forums and resident panels to consultations and various focus groups. This refresh of the Charter will build on existing initiatives, ensuring that residents continue to have a stake in their communities.”

Residents can take part in the consultation online and we will also be holding local meetings with various community groups.

Feedback gathered during the 12-week period will be used to update the Charter, making sure residents contribute to big decisions that affect services the borough.

You can get involved and share your views.  The deadline for participation is Monday 23 June 2025
