A burst water main on Bramley Road in Cockfosters forced Chase Farm Hospital to postpone planned operations on Wednesday. Thames Water deployed water trucks and bottled water stations as 750 households in Enfield and surrounding areas face ongoing shortages.
Thames Water has failed to restore water to 600 homes in South Woodford, Redbridge, after multiple pipe bursts last weekend. The company had promised full restoration by Friday but now blames trapped air in the network. Councillors criticise bottled water distribution as inadequate during the heatwave.
Thames Water has repaired one of two burst mains in South Woodford, restoring water to some of the 10,000 affected homes. The second burst on Chigwell Road remains unresolved, leaving residents in parts of Redbridge, Waltham Forest and Epping Forest without reliable supply since Saturday.
Thames Water fixed a burst pipe near Oxleas Wood on 2 August, but a second leak occurred when supply was restored. Most homes now have water, though pressure remains low. Bottled water is being delivered to priority residents.
