Bus driver John penalised after refusing to drive in 34°C heat, Barnet depot

A London bus driver, identified as John, was docked pay after refusing to drive a bus with broken air conditioning during the 34°C heatwave on 29 July. Transport UK said the cab fan was working, but John reported unsafe conditions. The Mayor of London had previously assured drivers they would not be penalised for refusing unsafe buses.
