Oxford Street to close to traffic from October 2026

A 1km stretch of Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 26 October 2026. The Mayor of London announced the date, which has been met with criticism from Westminster City Council over access, pollution, and safety concerns.
