Border Force officers at London Gateway Port in Essex intercepted 2.9 tonnes of cocaine worth over £200 million on 6 August 2026. Nine men were arrested and later released on bail. The National Crime Agency said the seizure disrupted organised crime profits.
Metropolitan Police seized £4 million in cash and a kilogram of cocaine in Catford after stopping a vehicle. A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property. The Met called it one of London’s largest cash seizures.

Three men from Essex have been sentenced to a total of 16 years and nine months for smashing a jewellery shop window in Richmond and stealing £225,000 of stock. The Metropolitan Police said the robbery on 31 January caused significant concern among local businesses and residents.
