New Elizabeth line trains enter service with first of ten running today

The first of ten new Elizabeth line trains has started carrying passengers, Transport for London confirmed. Built at Alstom’s Derby factory, the nine-carriage Class 345 Aventra units will support rising demand, including at the future Old Oak Common HS2 interchange. The remaining nine trains are due to enter service by 2025.
