West Reservoir east‑bank path opens, residents object to new fence

Hackney Council opened the east‑bank path around the West Reservoir on 9 September after summer works. A solid fence and turnstile restrict the café view and beach to paying swimmers, sparking complaints from residents, a Green councillor and the New River Renewal Campaign.
