England and Wales record driest July since 1836, Met Office confirms

England and Wales experienced their driest July on record in 2026, according to provisional Met Office statistics. Nineteen counties recorded 1mm or less rainfall, while southern England saw its hottest July, with the UK and England marking their second hottest.
