SWR targets Vauxhall fare evaders costing £31m a year

South Western Railway has increased staff at Vauxhall station to scan electronic tickets after finding 153 short-faring offences since June. The operator estimates £31m in annual revenue is at risk from passengers buying cheaper tickets for short journeys but travelling further.
