Met Police tech quadruples shoplifting prosecutions in London rollout
The Metropolitan Police’s digital evidence platform has increased prosecution rates for shoplifting from 7.3% to 29.4% in pilot boroughs. The system, used by Tesco, Boots, M&S and Greggs, will cover 14 London boroughs from 3 August 2026, with reported offences down 3.7% in the last year.
