London investment bankers earn over £1bn in takeover fees

London’s bankers and lawyers collected more than £1bn in advisory fees in 2026 as UK merger activity jumped 175% to £100bn. JP Morgan led the advisory market, while the Intertek deal alone is set to generate over £370m in fees.
