Two firefighters killed as Crete wildfires force mass evacuations

Two firefighters died while tackling blazes near Krya Vrysi on Crete, where winds reached 125km/h. Around 8,000 people were evacuated from their homes overnight as wildfires destroyed property and agricultural land in the Rethymno region during the peak tourism season.
