Met chief warns criminal justice system is under massive strain

The head of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Mark Rowley, has warned of unprecedented strain on the criminal justice system. He cited years of funding issues and pandemic backlogs, leading to nearly 500 London cases listed for trial in 2030 and firearms offenders on bail.
