Northern line extension to Bushey Heath scrapped in 1954 left Barnet with unfinished stations

A 1930s plan to extend the Northern line beyond Edgware to Bushey Heath was halted by the Second World War and post-war green belt restrictions. Only half-built arches at Brockley Hill remain as evidence of the scheme, formally abandoned in 1954 by London Transport.
