Arsenal agree £80m fee for Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães

Arsenal have agreed a fee of around £80 million with Newcastle United for midfielder Bruno Guimarães. The 28-year-old Brazil international is expected to undergo a medical in London this week, as reported by ESPN Brazil. The deal includes an initial payment of £70 million, with an additional £10 million in performance-related add-ons.

Guimarães, who has three years remaining on his Newcastle contract, was made club captain last season. Newcastle United have not confirmed the agreement, telling the London Standard that no deal has been finalised. The transfer would mark Arsenal’s second major signing of the summer, following the £34 million acquisition of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.
